PEARL STREET BREWERY WINS GOLD AGAIN!

April 28th, 2010

Out of 38 breweries, La Crosse’s own Pearl Street Brewery was voted the #1 brewery at the 8th Annual Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine & Cheese fest this weekend in La Crosse, for a second consecutive year.

Competition included some of the best selling and most reputable brands from all over the country, such as Bell’s, New Belgium, New Glarus and Capital. A complete listing can be found at the Between the Bluffs site.

There were over 150 different beers available for tasting. Pearl Street Brewery tapped their Pearl Street Pale Ale, D.T.B Brown Ale, El Hefe Bavarian Hefeweizen, That’s What I’m Talkin’ ‘Bout Organic Rolled Oat Stout and did a special tapping of the Dankenstein Double Imperial Pale Ale later in the afternoon to a sellout crowd.

Over 3,000 self-proclaimed beer, wine and cheese lovers and eligible voters turned out to cast their votes.

Thanks to everyone who turned out! And a very special thanks to The La Crosse Area Visitor and Convention Bureau for putting on a top notch event!

Cheers!

This Beer Is EVIL and It Must Be Enjoyed!

April 8th, 2010

Evil Doppleganger Double Mai Bock. “Evil Doppleganger”, (”evil twin” in German) is the Brewmaster’s latest creation! The Maibock style is a pale version of a traditional bock. It is a fairly recent development compared to other styles of bock beers, frequently associated with springtime and the month of May. Typically, the alcohol content in maibocks ranges from 6.3% to 7.4% by volume. Since “Evil D” is technically a dopple – or double – maibock, it’s alcohol content is 8%. The flavor is malty, and is slightly hoppier than a maibock, but still has a relatively low hop flavor, with a mild spicy or peppery quality from the hops. It is a clear lager, deep gold in color, with a large, creamy, white head.

This LIMITED Release is MAY 1ST.

Stop down to The Tasting Room 12-7 and try it. Dox Phonic will be playing LIVE for your enjoyment. Available for ONE DAY ONLY – The Big Package Deal. Buy a growler fill of the Evil Doppleganger and a pint and get a souvenir pint glass for keeps.

March 15, 2010 – Tickets On Sale For 8th Annual Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival

March 10th, 2010

btb-header

Tickets are about to go on sale for The 8th Annual Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival. And although it is mouthful to say the title of this fest, they’re just preparing you for what you’re going to get at the event. You’ll munch on some the finest cheese in all the land. Sip on expertly aged fine wines. And swig on the best craft beer around. I’d say it is a palate’s delight, but would probably be more accurate in saying it is pure gluttony (there’s no sin about it).

Mark your calendars and get in on the early bird specials.
