Pearl Street Fords the River!

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013

Ah, Minnesota. The land of hotdishes, Paul Bunyan, and now… Pearl Street Brewery! We are proud to announce that the craft beer lovers of the Land of 10,000 Lakes can now find PSB in Olmsted, Houston, Winona, and Fillmore Counties (for starters!).

Crossing the border into our friendly neighboring state is exciting for us, and we’re proud to have partnered up with La Crosse-based Midwest Beverage and Cellars, a distribution company whose employees are equally excited about good beer!

“We take care of beer, and we want to do it the right way,” explains Doug Beckman. “We pick [the beer] up cold, we keep it cold, and keep it fresh.”

Pearl Street is proud to support another local small business. Midwest’s workforce is only six employees, and their portfolio is small, in order to be able to focus on every brand. Says Beckman, “we’re proud to be a partner with Pearl Street Brewery and bring a great La Crosse beer into Minnesota.”

You can find Pearl Street Brewery six-packs already on the shelves at all three Apollo Liquor stores in Rochester, and at La Crescent Wine & Spirits on the pike between La Crescent and La Crosse, as well as numerous other retailers, bars, and restaurants. New locations are popping up every day; where will you find your next Pearl Street brew?

Java Lava Now in Bottles!

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013

You’ve begged, you’ve pleaded … and we’ve heard your cry! Your beloved Java Lava is NOW in stores ready and waiting for you to take some home today!

If you haven’t tasted this dark and delicious brew yet, you’re in for a toasty treat. We take our stout, made with organic rolled oats and both black and chocolate malts, and we dump buckets full o’ beans into the brew, where they steep until our desired coffee aroma and flavor is reached.

We use Guatemalan coffee beans, which are freshly-roasted by our pals at Bean Juice Coffee Roasters, just down on La Crosse’s South Side. So while you’re kicking back at home with a bottle of this eye-opener, you can feel good about supporting not one, but TWO local small businesses.

You’ll find these little black bottles popping up in your favorite Wisconsin (and Southeastern Minnesota!) restaurant, tavern, or local beer retailer. If you don’t see it where you’re at, go ahead and ask ‘em. After all, you need something to fill your coffee mug up with, right?

Harvest Ale is almost here!

Monday, November 11th, 2013

Doesn’t it seem like just yesterday all of those hop vines were sunning themselves on our porch, rife with glorious fragrant Cascade cones? Now the flurries are already flying and there’s a chill in the air, but that only means one thing around here: It’s time to release the 2013 Harvest Ale!

For those not familiar with our this annual Fall seasonal, it’s one that’s especially near and dear to our hearts. Why? Because this beer could be considered as local as we get. The hops used for this amber-colored ale are perennials that start climbing our front porch every Spring. We also directly involve the community in the beer they drink! Late summer, when the hops are good and hearty, we invite our customers to grab a bowl and start pickin’! We give you a free beer for every pound of hops you pick. Then, after the brew has finally finished fermenting, we keg it up in limited supply and offer our hop-pickin’ friends to swing down and enjoy the fruits of their labor, and thank them with another free pint!

So make a note to come by next summer and get involved in the beer-making process! Until then, join us this Friday, November 15 for our 2013 Harvest Ale release party. This beer is in very limited supply, so don’t forget to bring those growlers down and stock up.

We’ll see you Friday folks!

Off Beat Brew Off

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Sorry, Pearl Street Brewery’s Off-Beat Brew-Off has been cancelled due to lack of participation.  If you have already submitted your beer, we have kept it cold for you and you may pick it up at the brewery.
We still think this is a great idea but, with the crazy summer we had (17 brewfests, 6 beer releases, the Tour de Pearl and 30% growth :) ), just didn’t get the word out to homebrewers well enough in advance. We plan on doing this earlier next year so there is enough time to brew a beer or two. Please click the link below where it says “comments” to add YOUR input. We’d love to hear from you!

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Pearl definitely pays around here. Congrats to Dr. Dingman for winning the Pearl Pays Promotion here at The Pearl Street Brewery. How’d he do it? He brought his receipt of purchase for buying his six packs from our local retailers. He got himself a FREE beer and entered in the drawing to win a FREE Pearl Street Brewery Hoodie! Yes, it’s that simple!

The winner of our Growler Sustainability Project is Lonnie Simmons. Thanks Lonnie for putting less waste into the landfills. How’d Lonnie do it? Simply by purchasing growlers at our Tasting Room and getting on the board to win a FREE hoodie! Congrats Lonnie.
